Our founder Sarah's core values are wonder, justice, community, and adventure. She believed meaningful work should make space for all of it: the creativity, the curiosity, the scrappiness, the deep commitment ... and yes, even the failures (especially the failures!). And she suspected other visionary leaders wanted the same: a way of doing work that honors the messy, iterative, exciting reality of making lasting change while caring for their own wellbeing and resiliency.
The book The Alchemist has always been a guiding force, reminding us that the real treasure is the growth found in the journey itself, and in trusting your intuition even in the face of uncertainty. We bring that spirit into everything we do, not with rigid rules, but with an open mind and curiosity, knowing that often the answer already lies within us.
In choosing a name, Sarah kept coming back to the juniper: a tree that grows on the side of a mountain where nothing else can. Despite the elements, it adapts, and even thrives, in scarcity. It flourishes quietly, growing in beauty and wisdom. That spirit captures what we bring to our work: perseverance and heart, fearlessness and intention.
Juniper Collective is rooted in all of it: the values, the journey, and the conviction that this work deserves to be done differently, boldly, and with heart. So we're a social impact design studio where that isn't the exception. It's the whole point.

I have a master's in global social work and 16+ years of deep experience across nonprofits, the public sector, and global corporations, designing strategies, building programs, and engaging stakeholders at every scale. I've worked with federal agencies, international NGOs, and major corporations across five continents.
I knew early on I was called to social justice. My years of living and working at NGOs in Central America, Uganda, and Cambodia only deepened that. I still spend part of each year working abroad and love to connect with leaders and organizations around the world.
I've helped start two nonprofits and two small businesses, so I know what it takes to build something from nothing. I'm just as comfortable setting vision as I am in the weeds getting things done. And what I hear most from clients? That I really care. And they can feel it.
